Affordable Care Update

by Joy Johnson on January 2, 2015

1095-A.fwI’ve been going through the tax software to see what the Affordable Care worksheets look like.  There are five extra worksheets that will, except for very rare instances, need to be completed. Watch carefully for Form 1095-A – and you may get more than one – several perhaps, one for each plan in effect for any part of the year for any member of the tax household having insurance through the marketplace.  If you have someone you COULD claim as a dependent but don’t, you will need to get their tax return and sick care premium. information as well. This is what you should watch for.

In addition to this, you will need details for employer provided plans.  In short, you’ll need to know exactly who was covered, and by whom, for each month of the year, the amount paid, and who paid it.
